Pilgrim's Pride to axe 30 corporate GNP positions mostly in St. Cloud

Pilgrim's Pride is cutting 30 corporate positions at GNP Co. as part of its recent acquisition of the St. Cloud-based producer of Gold'n Plump chicken. Pilgrim's Pride Corp. (NYSE: PPC) of Greeley, Colo., completed its purchase of GNP Co. on Friday for $350 million. In a statement, Pilgrim's Pride CEO Bill Lovette said the 30 positions were eliminated as part of streamlining of GNP with Pilgrim Pride's workforce.
