Hong Kong racing betting: Teetan can leave punters with Fantastic Feeling

Hong Kong racing betting: Teetan can leave punters with Fantastic FeelingEVEN before the racing season kicked off, the omens looked good for 27-year-old jockey Karis Teetan.

The Mauritian-born rider took part in the annual jockeys 60m sprint at the pre-season HK Carnival, and raced to victory by a staggering 30m, and that was with no shoes on!

Teetan has already started the season in spectacular fashion, lying third in the jockey’s championship table with a dozen winners and a 30%-plus win and place strike-rate.

He is a ‘confidence jockey’ and when things go right he is the man to follow, but when they start to go wrong it’s time to look elsewhere.

Having ridden more winners than ‘Magic Man’ Joao Moreira at the Valley, Teetan is on a high at present and has first-rate prospects of continuing his winning run when he climbs aboard useful handicapper *FANTASTIC FEELING* (3.15pm).

This four-time course and distance winner, trained by former four-time South African champion trainer David Ferraris, looked in need of the run on his seasonal reappearance last month when finishing a close-up third behind one of this afternoon’s rival Super Leader in a competitive Class 3 handicap.

He is now 6lbs better off with Super Leader for a length beating, and will strip considerably fitter for that run.

Unfortunately, you will probably have to hold your breath during the race.

He is a horse that has to be ridden for luck – this is where the confidence of Teetan will play an important part – but has a devastating finishing kick.

If he is within two lengths of the lead turning into the home stretch, you can confidently make your way up to the pay-out counter.
