Tencent earmarks US$4.52b to nurture Chinese content firms and clamp down on plagiarism

Tencent, the Chinese technology conglomerate, has earmarked 30 billion yuan (US$4.52 billion) to fund the growth of domestic content producers and clampdown on copyright plagiarism on its various platforms. The Shenzhen giant said the huge planned cash spend will help boost the development efforts of content producers using its platforms including social messaging apps such as WeChat and QQ, browsers, news aggregators, Tencent Video, app stores and live streaming apps, to drive much more...
