Andrew Sachs filmed his final TV role on EastEnders during his secret battle with dementia [BBC] It was confirmed last night that the actor had died at the age of 86 after a four-year battle with the disease.  The actor was best known for his role of the Spanish waiter Manuel in sitcom Fawlty Towers.  His wife revealed that the star had secretly been battling dementia for the last four years, sharing her “heartbreak” over her loss.
