How Is The Nintendo Switch Doing Two Weeks In?by

The Nintendo Switch is thought to be the Japanese firm’s fastest-selling home console, according to spokespeople, and it certainly seems that the unique handheld/console hybrid is set to paper over the cracks that emerged in Nintendo’s reputation thanks to the haphazard history of its previous conquest, the Wii U. The Switch is already thought to have sold well over a million units worldwide, and while it may be a fair way behind the Wii U’s overall lifetime tally, experts are already predicting that the hardware is set to outsell its predecessor overall. This is despite reports that second week sales of the console are lower than that of the Wii U’s second week – though this was following a barnstorming first week at the height of release, and barely a month into its shelf life, it is already winning over hundreds of thousands of people.

It has been widely well-received – while launch titles may be relatively sparse at present, the latest Legend of Zelda title has gone down well with players, and with Splatoon 2 and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe on the horizon very soon, it won’t be long before players get more titles to try their hand at. Certainly, it seems that Nintendo are drip-feeding their content bit by bit this time around – a sensible policy which will hopefully put them in good stead. They are, however, currently investigating a problem that appears to be plaguing users worldwide – relating to the use of the joystick on the left joy-con controller.

The joystick is thought to be losing connection for thousands of players, with some players even giving in and buying a Pro Controller instead – at around $60 extra, this is a brave purchase – yet the problem is so widespread that Nintendo are said to be looking deeply into the issue, according to Nintendo US CEO Reggie Fils-Aime, who states that the firm are currently collating user reports via helpline to build a bigger picture as to what exactly is going on with the hardware.

If you are still considering purchasing a Switch, never fear – the firm are keen to roll out a solution as soon as possible, and thousands of gamers worldwide are still able to enjoy Zelda, Bomberman, Shovel Knight and other titles without hassle – and players hope that a quick fix is forthcoming ahead of bigger releases lined up on the calendar.
