Malcolm Turnbull says Islamic State on the cusp of defeat but warns of domestic terror threat

Brisbane Times Friday, 23 September 2016 ()
Malcolm Turnbull says Islamic State on the cusp of defeat but warns of domestic terror threat Malcolm Turnbull has emerged from high-level talks in Washington, increasingly hopeful of a final defeat Islamic State forces in Syria, but warning of an increased domestic threat in Australian and abroad as it is rolled back in Syria. Mr Turnbull also acknowledged that there was the strong potential for a power-vacuum after ISIS is dispatched, meaning Syria will be unstable for years to come and potentially require an ongoing international security presence.
