Pokemon GO Is Still GOing - And There's Legendary Changes Dueby

Remember Pokemon GO? If 2016 was the year of big political change, it will also be known, on a lighter note, as the year where we all went a little bit loopy over catching miniature creatures on our cellphones. Pokemon GO became THE app of the summer, with young people and adults alike actually taking the time to walk around and discover new places to gain potions, Pokeballs and the chance to find that elusive Jynx or two – since then, however, mania has certainly died down on the Poke Go front.

Many players have left the service as there is no sign of the battle and trading systems that made the original games so addictive – however, scores of new monsters from the second generation of games have recently been popping up worldwide, meaning that a few players have returned to catching once again. While the app may have lost the unbelievable popularity it experienced during last summer, it’s still ticking away in the background – and some are predicting that its anniversary this July will bring with it a host of interesting new features.

It’s thought that legendary Pokemon are thought to be on the horizon at least at some point this year – even Ditto, the shape-shifting Pokemon, was unobtainable until recently – and this will mean that we could potentially get the chance to seize Mew, Mewtwo, Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres, Entei, Suicune, Raikou and Celebi either at a special event or even in the wild. This will be big news on the Pokemon Go front – while rumors surfaced last year that an Articuno had been captured or even gifted to a player in light of problems they experienced, there have been no more sightings of rarities on the road.

But what will bring the hardcore gamership back to the fold? It’s hard to say, or even if the moment has passed – but with trading and battling still in the pipeline – it’s assumed – it’s likely that there will be a second wave to the game that will hopefully entice more players back to the app in due course. Will we get the chance to experience even more Pokemon from later generations? Possibly – but that will depend on how that app performs before the end of this year. The game is still ticking over nicely – but will it outlive its alleged reputation as a ‘summer craze’? We certainly hope so!
