Friday, 21 April 2017 More than 50 were killed and wounded in an ambush attack when Taliban gunmen disguised in Afghan army uniforms made their way past checkpoints to attack a military base on Friday, according to Reuters. Afghan officials were unsure about the exact number of casualties in the incident as the Afghan government remains locked in a war against Taliban insurgents and other militant groups.
