Utilities in Chile, Colombia and Brazil can now reduce water losses and increase efficiency using smart water technology.
Yehud, Israel (PRWEB) April 27, 2012
TaKaDu, a Water Network Monitoring pioneer, announced today its expansion in the Latin American market engaging with regional distributors: Gerentec Engenharia in Brazil, BTP Medidores in Colombia and Atacama Water & Technology (AWT) in Chile. The selected local partners have proven track records of delivering solutions and are dedicated to bringing the best technologies to water utilities in their regional markets.
Water Network Monitoring helps water utilities worldwide take control of their networks by giving them real-time knowledge and alerts about inefficiencies and water loss in addition to other problems in their water distribution infrastructure. The TaKaDu solution uses existing meter and sensor readings and advanced algorithms to detect, accurately identify and report network events, such as leaks, bursts and other faults. TaKaDu is using the Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) delivery model enabling quick set-up and ease of use, requiring no changes to existing equipment or any upfront investment. As water loss is a serious concern in Latin America, water companies are adopting innovative technologies such as the TaKaDu water network monitoring solution in order to improve network performance.
“Utilities in Latin America consider water loss and network inefficiencies their highest priority”, said Eddy Segal, TaKaDu’s Business Director for LATAM. “Water companies in Colombia, Brazil and Chile, as well as other parts of the continent, are investing in solutions to address these problems, and our local partners can help the utilities with their water loss reduction efforts using TaKaDu’s advanced online service”.
According to BTP Medidores General Manager Alberto Corredor, “BTP has been focusing on deploying meters and sensors in many utilities in Colombia, through our partnership with Sensus. TaKaDu takes the data from existing meters and turns it into network insight, taking utilities to a higher level of network awareness”.
Following the successful implementation of TaKaDu at Aguas de Antofagasta in May 2011, the integrators, Atacama Water & Technology (AWT), decided to expand their relationship with TaKaDu. Aguas de Antofagasta operate a concession for the distribution of water in Chile’s Antogagasta region located in one of the driest deserts, the Atacama desert, making water loss a serious issue. Patricio Martiz, the AWT General Manager, stated: “Our vision is to give a complete water loss management solution to our customers, which is exactly what our relationship with TaKaDu enables us to do".
“We are pleased to provide our clients, the largest water utilities in Brazil, with the sophisticated technology offered by TaKaDu, which complements and adds value to our portfolio of services, supporting the clients to achieve an even higher standard in water efficiency” stated Jose Luiz Amarante, Director of Gerentec Engenharia.
These new regional partners join a growing network of global and local distributors serving water utilities, in Europe, Asia and the Pacific, Australia and Latin America.
