New York, NY (PRWEB) May 22, 2012

A 28-year-old construction worker died after falling approximately three stories to his death, reported The New York Times (5/18/2012). It was the worker’s first day on the job.

“Unfortunately, many people who are new to the job lack the experience and necessary training to stay safe,” said New York construction accident lawyer, David Perecman, founder of The Perecman Firm, one of New York’s construction accident law firms.

The worker, Adrien Zamora, “appeared to have lost his footing” before falling from scaffolding in SoHo, said the NYT. Zamora was doing facade renovation work at the time of the New York scaffold fall construction accident.

According to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), the most common cause of death for construction workers is falls. Over 700 construction workers died from falls on the job in the past year.
.
“It's true that some New York construction accidents are unavoidable, however, many accidents on construction sites are the direct result of negligence or failure to comply with state, city and-or federal laws and regulations intended to maintain a safe work site,” said New York construction accident lawyer Perecman, the former head New York construction accident lawyer for the New York State Trial Lawyers Association and a lecturer on construction accident law.

Perecman and the New York construction accident lawyers at The Perecman Firm have recovered millions of dollars in verdicts and settlements for injured construction workers and families of workers who died in construction accidents.
