Opus Energy, an independent UK energy supplier who sponsor Champion gymnast Daniel Keatings, today visited two primary schools in Northamptonshire with Daniel. Keatings spoke to more than 300 primary school children about the exciting summer he has ahead of him and his potential to be chosen to compete in the 2012 Olympics.

Children from Little Houghton Church of England Primary School and Chiltern Primary School were left mesmerized after Daniel's pommel horse routine. The children were also given the chance to ask Daniel about his daily routine, training programme and what motivates him.

The children were captivated when Keatings - who is viewed as one of the top British gymnastics - encouraged some of them to take part in a mini routine consisting of handstands, cartwheels, and forward rolls with him.

Head Teacher at Chiltern Primary School, Mrs. Penny Howell commented, "The children were overjoyed when we told them that a well-known gymnast would be visiting the school. They all wanted to take part in the routines with Daniel, and thought it was great that their friends got to watch as well."

Head Teacher at Little Houghton Church of England Primary School, Mrs. Carolyn Fairbrother stated, "We have been discussing the upcoming Olympics a lot in class and the children have been getting quite excited. Meeting Daniel and watching his gym routine was the icing on the cake for them!"

Opus Energy's Managing Director, Charlie Crossley Cooke commented, "It is great that Opus Energy's sponsorship with Daniel gives him the ability to visit schools and talk with the children. His passion for gymnastics has been really motivational to lots of the kids who want to progress within sports."

More information about Daniel Keatings and Opus Energy's sponsorship can be read on the Opus Energy Challenge website or through Daniel's blog.
