Ratings: Seth Meyers Ties Top ‘Late Night’ Wednesday in 5 Years
Thursday, 27 February 2014
Seth Meyers continued to roll in his third telecast, tying the “Late Night” series’ top ratings for a Wednesday in 5 years.
“Late Night” earned a 0.9 rating in the advertiser-sought adults 18-49 demographic. Additionally, the show’s 2.7 million is the second highest total-viewer result for a Wednesday “Late Night” in 6 years — since Jan. 2, 2008, 2.9 million — trailing only Jimmy Fallon’s final Wednesday “Late Night” earlier this month.

This time, the show fell shy of topping its combined competition — though just barely. The rounded 2.7 million viewers Meyers pulled in were topped by the roughly 2.8 million for the combination of ABC’s “Nightline” and CBS’ “Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson.”
Wednesday’s “Late Night” featured Kelly Ripa, Brad Paisley — who doubled as musical guest — and writer Robyn Doolittle. Thursday’s edition is scheduled to include Lena Dunham, Anthony Mackie and musical guest John Mayer Trio.

Fallon’s “Tonight Show” was still solid as well, pulling in a 1.7 rating on night No. 8. Its 5.5 million viewers overall topped the combined efforts of CBS’ “Late Show with David Letterman” (2.4 million) and ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live” (2.5 million).
Wednesday’s “Tonight” featured Drew Barrymore and Adam Sandler (appearing together) and musical guest Dierks Bentley. Thursday’s telecast is scheduled to include Denzel Washington, Shaun White and musical guest Sara Bareilles with The Roots.
