Will Trump Fight His Travel Ban With MORE Executive Orders?by

It’s been another exciting week in the world of US politics, and with it there have been various ups and downs in the fortunes of the Commander in Chief, President Trump. Trump has, famously, caused considerable concern among the media and protestors worldwide after he set out a plan to block immigration from several Muslim countries, effectively overwriting the travel rights of many people who had legal access to the US and back. Since this ban, however, it has been blocked by federal Washington judge James Robert, who was instated by George W Bush during is time as President. This, effectively, has rendered the President’s plan fairly moot until further notice.

Trump and his team reacted angrily to the news that the executive order was frozen until further discussion, with the President taking to Twitter in recent days to advise that he would ‘see (those responsible) in court’. Since this reaction, however, the President and his team have advised the press that there are currently no plans in place to further the legal battle over the existing order. Instead, it could be that the White House may simply rewrite the controversial order, instate a new one, or find other avenues to bolster security in the country. Trump has insisted that fast action needs to take place to ensure that US borders are tightened for security – however, much of the outer populace appears to disagree.

Trump is continuing to divide opinion and even those who are in his own party – with many stating that the President’s initial ban was inhumane – and with protests occurring worldwide. The UK, too, is bearing up to a visit from the President, with many people aiming to take to the streets to make their voices heard against Trump’s forthcoming state tour. He has already been denied the opportunity to address Parliament after intervention from House Speaker John Bercow – and the way news is ticking away, it is set to continue to be a very dramatic year in terms of US-international relations.

It’s not currently known which strategy Trump and his team will opt for in the face of the ban being blocked – however, some sources suggest that they may be able to put through an alternative order to work with the legal ramifications of the original. As always in the world of politics, we will simply have to wait and see.
