The United Nations will relocate around 12 percent of its international staff in Afghanistan due to deteriorating security, the head of the U.N. Mission in Afghanistan said Thursday.
''The U.N. is putting in place additional security for its national and international staff. There will be a short-term relocations for about 12 percent of our staff while this is going on,'' UNIMA head Kai Eide told reporters in Kabul. He said they would be relocated both ''inside the country as well as outside the country.''
