News video: Colorado residents ready to evacuateready to evacuate. the lightning-sparked little east fire is between 80 and 100 acres right now. it is burning near the la plata - montezuma county line. more than 30 homes are on pre-evacuation notice because of the fire. right now firefighters and air tankers are trying to build a fire line to keep it from spreading. as flames inch closer to homes--- more support has been called in to fight the vallecito fire near durango. liz lastra was there as one family started to pack up their home. the smoke is thick near jeff dey's home. he and his wife, melia, live near the vallecito reservoir just outside of durango. "naturally we're concerned. So we're doing a little pre-evacuation at our home" AS DEY AND HIS wife pack up some of their items--crews continue to fight the vallecito fire. 18 homes in the lake vista estates area are under pre evacuation orders. the fire is over two-hundred acres. "we suspect it was from lightning. There were a lot of lightning strikes, thousands of lightning strikes, that hit southwestern colorado last weekend" information officer pam wilson says a majority of this fire will be fought from the sky sie a previous fire has made conditions on the ground dangerous for fire crews. "it is burning within the old missionary ridge burn area so there's a lot of down and dead timber" WILSON says extra support arrived today. "we have two heavy air tankers and one type one helicopter and so they have been starting to do some retardant and water drops" WILSON says the planes are having to fly to albuquerque to get the retardant since the durango base was already closed for the season.
