nominee, but hillary clinton sent one of her most trusted supporters to sioux city. tim: clinton's daughter chelsea rallied at the orpheum this afternoon speaking for her mom. jenna: tonight, our jamie perez was able to speak to those in the crowd.
" on behalf of her mother's presidential campaign, chelsea clinton made a stop in sioux city to address any unanswered questions siouxlanders may have regarding her mother's potential presidency. she also stated her value systems and why she doesn't believe trump is fit to be president.
" the demeaning speak against americans with disabilities, against women, against minorities, against muslims, against immigrants, against our veterans, against a gold-star family... none of that is the country that i want to live in and it's certainly not the country that i want my children, our children and our grandchildren to grow up in," says clinton. after speaking her mind, and addressing questions from the audience, many crowd members were quick to jump at sharing their opinions on chelsea's speech.
" i've been a supporter of hillary since 2008, and when i heard chelsea was coming, i wanted to come and listen to her speak. she's very intelligent, she's a great speaker and i agree with everything she said that our vote next month is going to determine the future of the country," says lynette shuff, hillary supporter.
" i used to support bernie but he endorsed hillary but i have yet to see hillary in the streets with us marching, at the dakota pipeline, i have yet to see her visit the jails, i have yet to see her visit the welfare office, i have yet to see her actually go to the court system and see people like me who are struggling," says mariah plus, green party.
" she's such a wonderfully warm woman. i just really admire her and i'm so excited to think that we will have a woman president in our country. that means a lot to me," says carole heider, hillary supporter.
