This year the Gershwin Prize for Popular Song was awarded to Tony Bennett. Bennett is currently 90-years-old and this Tuesday, June 20th, he was told he would receive the lifetime achievement award from the Library of Congress. Bennett is best known for his song, “I Left My Heart in San Francisco,” which he won two grammy’s for. Bennett has been making music with Columbia Records since the 1950s and most recently he collaborated with Lady Gaga.
