Mumbai (Maharashtra), Oct 07 (ANI): Shiv Sena President Uddhav Thackeray slammed the Centre over GST on Saturday.
He sarcastically thanked the central government for reducing tax slabs under GST but asked if it will refund the tax collected so far.
Thackeray also added that people are still not happy as petrol prices are still high and inflation is still up.
He said that though he is not an economist to comment on yesterday’s announcements, the previous government stood firm on its decisions.
The Shiv Sena Chief further added that decisions are being changed following opposition and dissatisfaction among people.
“Changes announced by GST Council are not Diwali gift and several more changes are required,” he added.
Speaking on changes in tax rates under GST, Thackeray said these changes were announced in light of forthcoming Gujarat election..
