Transcript: Steve Bannon Reportedly Wants Mark Cuban to Run for President in 2020
President Donald Trump’s former Chief Strategist might have a new boss.
According to a report by the Daily Beast, the Dallas Mavericks owner confirmed he has been in communication with Bannon about a possible 2020 bid.
Sources close to Bannon are saying he wants Cuban to run as a democrat seeing it as a realistic path to a viable presidential run.
Cuban has not been shy about the possibility of running for president, saying if he were to do so, it would be independent of one of the two major political parties.
But Cuban also said recently at a New York times conference that the reason he hasn’t committed to running for President is because of his family, stating his wife asked him if he wanted to stay married he shouldn’t run.
On the other hand Bannon has expressed doubts whether his former boss will be able to serve out a full-term let alone have a chance of re-election, according to a Vanity Fair report.
