Transcript: Navicent Health host Veterans Day Event for employees

looking for semi truck driver. tomorrow is veterans day and navicent health started off the holiday weekend honoring their employees who served in the military with a veterans day event. 41 nbc's emanuela rendini spoke to employees who said they were grateful for the event. manny... michael, as i stood in the lobby of the navicent heart institute, all i saw were employees with smiles or serious looks on their faces. it was clear at the event that the speaker, a lieutenant colonol from robins air force base, really touched people with her experience in the air force. :01-04 :05 :54 1:25 "it was truly my brother experience in the military academy that really started to expose me to the military way of life.

" lieutenant colonel tracey sapp joined the air force as an obstetrician nurse. she delivered babies, but she says she wanted to do more for her country, so she worked with air medical evacuation.

"i was able to support an transport many wounded warriors across the globe and that brought a very deep sense of service and pride.

" sapp says she was deployed to multiple places across the world and the situations she encountered humbled her.

"especially when i wa transporting our wounded veterans to iraq and afghanistan up to germany so that they could get better care." sapp spoke at the veterans day event about her experience and fellow veteran donald smith says he heard a message through her speech.

"you know it take all of us to work together to fight for the freedom of those that don't have a voice. the united states being one of the greatest armed forces in the world, we take pride in what we do to deliver those freedoms from those that don't have a voice." an sapp says serving in the air force has given her something.

"it has given me a large family, than my own family. every place that i go, i have a team of people, of americans, that i served alongside that i am truly honored and privileged to be apart of.
