Kimberly M. Foxx is an American politician, currently serving as the State's Attorney for Cook County, Illinois. She manages the nation's second largest prosecutor's office and oversees an office of approximately 800 attorneys and 1,500 employees. She won the Democratic nomination for the position on March 15, and won the general election on November 8, 2016. She is the second African American, after Cecil A. Partee, to hold this position. She ran for the State's Attorney's office on a platform of criminal justice reform, and has often been termed a "reformist" or "reform-minded" prosecutor alongside others such as Larry Krasner, Rachael Rollins, Aramis Ayala, and Kimberly Gardner.
