East Africa: Ethiopian Airlines Pilot Told Me He Was Coming Home - Mother
Wednesday, 13 March 2019 () [Nation] "I am coming to Nairobi. I have forgotten my phone, but we will talk once I get there," these were the last words Mr Yared Getachew, the pilot of the ill-fated Ethiopian Airlines flight ET302 uttered to his mother as he prepared to steer the aircraft for the less than two-hour flight to Nairobi.
When Ethiopian Airlines flight 302 crashed, it killed every one of the 157 people on board.
Now, a source who has listened to the air traffic control recording says the plane had an unusually high speed after take-off.
Then, the plane reported problems and asked permission to climb quickly.
According to the New York Times, the pilot flying the Ethiopian Airlines plane that crashed last month did not receive updated training on the Boeing 737 Max 8.... CBS News Also reported by •NYTimes.com •Reuters •Reuters India
