Nuvaira, Plymouth-based med-tech firm, closes on $79 million to fund trials of lung-disease treatment

Nuvaira Inc. has raised $79 million in equity financing in a round led by Silicon Valley firm U.S. Venture Partners, the Plymouth medical-technology company announced Monday. Nuvaira, formerly Holaira Inc., develops technology to treat overactive nerves in the airways of people afflicted by lung diseases such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), which causes shortness of breath.
