Facebook moves in on workplace video conferencing market with Portal devices

Facebook’s Portal video chat devices will now handle its Workplace service for businesses, challenging Cisco Webex, Zoom Video Communications, Slack and Microsoft Corp.'s Skype. The Menlo Park social media giant announced the Portal app among other new Workplace features at its Flow conference today. The Portal’s Smart Camera automatically pans and zooms during video calls. Workplace will add an option to automatically include live video captions and will see a new peer-to-peer video solution…
