Comcast acquires Xumo as it doubles down on ad-based streaming

Comcast is upping its bet on ad-based free streaming, announcing Tuesday the acquisition of streaming platform Xumo. The deal comes a couple months before the debut of Peacock, the ad-supported streaming service Comcast's NBCUniversal will begin to roll out in April. Terms of the deal weren't disclosed.
