The U.S. Senate and the Tennessee Supreme Court took action Wednesday to protect homeowners and renters affected by the coronavirus crisis. The $2 trillion stimulus bill the Senate passed the night of March 25 includes a section that prohibits lenders from foreclosing on single-family mortgages that are backed by federal agencies, Freddie Mac, or Fannie Mae for 60 days.
