CytoDyn Inc (OTCQB:CYDY) is set to submit a clinical trial design to the US FDA to compare the effectiveness of leronlimab versus remdesivir, and in combination with remdesivir for the treatment of coronavirus (COVID-19), it told investors on Monday. It comes as the firm is currently enrolling patients in two clinical trials in a bid to combat the global killer virus. These are a Phase 2 randomized clinical trial for mild-to-moderate COVID-19 population and a Phase 2b/3 randomized clinical trial for those severely and critically ill in the USA. Phunware Inc (NASDAQ:PHUN) co-founder and CEO Alan S Knitowski said Monday that the company closed the first quarter with nearly $11 million in backlog as it successfully launched new Multiscreen-as-a-Service (Maas) platform products and solutions. In a statement accompanying Austin, Texas-based Phunware’s latest numbers, Knitowski said: “During extremely challenging times, we are successfully executing our operational model and business strategy to become the premier digital transformation source for mobile initiatives worldwide.” For its first quarter ended March 31, 2020, Phunware reported net revenue of $2.6 million with platform subscriptions and services contributing $2.4 million to the revenue figure. Helix Technologies Inc (OTCQB:HLIX) has reported a surge in gross profit and revenue in the first quarter of 2020 as it continues to expand its international footprint. The group, which provides comprehensive supply chain management, compliance tools, and asset protection for any license type in any regulated cannabis market, reported gross profits for the quarter of $2.3 million, 58% higher year-on-year, while revenues climbed 35% to $4.6 million. Adjusted earnings (EBITDA) improved to nearly breakeven in the quarter, swinging to a positive of $79,000 from a loss of $1 million in the first quarter of 2019. Cash flow from operations also jumped 69%.  Ximen Mining Corp (CVE:XIM) (OTCMKTS:XXMMF) has outlined its exploration plans for British Columbia this summer, with drilling in some areas is expected to start next month. The firm holds over 146 acres in some of the most prolific gold camps in the south of the province, it said in a statement. On May 14, the firm announced it had signed a letter of intent to buy Verrian, which owns and operates an EU-GMP, ISO 14001 compliant 110,000 square foot facility in Radebuel, Germany that was a former pharmaceutical manufacturing centre. Both the facility and its equipment are independently valued at C$10.6 million, including an analytical laboratory, and full pharmaceutical manufacturing suite. Silvercorp Metals Inc (NSYEAMERICAN:SVM) (TSX:SVM) has amended its previously announced agreement with producer Guyana Goldfields Inc (TSE:GUY), which runs the Aurora gold mine in the South American country, valuing the latter company at around C$227 million. Under the upgraded terms, each Guyana Goldfields shareholder will now receive C$0.25 in cash and 0.1849 of a Silvercorp share, for a total consideration of C$1.30 per share, based on the volume-weighted average price for Silvercorp shares for the five trading days to May 14. The amendment was agreed after Guyana Goldfields received an unsolicited all-cash proposal from a third party, Silvercorp said. Champignon Brands Inc (CSE:SHRM) (OTCQB:SHRMF) has said it will sponsor TheraPsil, a British Columbia (BC)-based non-profit coalition of healthcare professionals, policy-makers and community leaders seeking legal access to psilocybin for BC palliative cancer patients in psychological distress. Milestone Scientific Inc (NYSEAMERICAN:MLSS) CEO Leonard Osser told shareholders Monday that the company is seeing growing interest in its CompuFlo CathCheck System, although he also acknowledged that the ongoing coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has temporarily halted the advancement of the system. The CompuFlo CathCheck System is a computer-controlled, real-time pressure-sensing technology designed to reduce failure rates and accidental punctures from epidural catheters. Osser noted that the system is in a pilot study at a leading US hospital that took interest because it minimizes contact between the patient and medical provider, “which is especially important during the COVID-19 pandemic.”  Aftermath Silver Ltd (CVE:AAG) (OTCQB:FLMZF) has completed the acquisition of an 80% stake in the Cachinal silver-gold project in Chile after a debenture retirement was triggered early.  The company on Friday announced it had reached an agreement to immediately retire the $1,075,000 balance of the $1,575,000 convertible debenture which was issued to Halo Labs Inc in October 2019 in consideration of the acquisition of the 80% interest in the project. To retire the obligations under the debenture, Aftermath Silver said it will issue 4 million common shares to Halo at the conversion price of $0.20. Namaste Technologies Inc (CVE:N) (OTCMKTS:NXTTF) said it now expects to file its interim filings for the first quarter ended February 29 on or before June 13 after activities impacted by coronavirus required it to extend the preparation and filing period of the results. The company, which provides a leading online platform for cannabis products, accessories, and responsible education, said it was taking “extensive employee safety measures” which required more time, and that the release of its results was in accordance with the blanket relief of a 45-day extension, provided by Canadian Securities Administrators.
