Plunging demand among its airline customers and dramatic production cuts are forcing Boeing rival Airbus to slash its global workforce by 15,000 between now and 2021, CEO Guillaume Faury said Tuesday. “Airbus is facing the gravest crisis this industry has ever experienced,” said Faury, who attributed the cuts to a pandemic-related 40% drop in demand for the French German jet maker's single-aisle and widebody airplanes.
