GR Silver Mining Ltd (CVE:GRSL) (OTCQB:GRSLF) (FRA:GPE) said latest drilling at its Plomosas project in Mexico has encountered high grades, underlining the potential for a future shallow underground mine development at the property.  The assays hail from one hole - part of the 2021 resource delineation drilling program at the San Juan Area - and wide, high-grade silver mineralization was hit 55 metres (m) below surface, extending the known mineralized zone.  READ: GR Silver Mining appoints new VP for Corporate Communications Highlights included 5.7m at a grade of 611 g/t silver, 0.5% lead and 1.7 % zinc, which included an intercept of 1.7m at 1,762 g/t silver, 1.3% lead and 4.9% zinc. "The epithermal system in the San Juan Area of the Plomosas project is showing evidence of being predominantly mineralized with silver," said GR Silver Mining's CEO Marcio Fonseca. "The company continues to encounter a series of mineralized intersections close to surface, representing a target area with the potential for a future shallow underground mine development. As a result, we have been encouraged to continue surface drilling in 2021, on extensions to the existing veins that make up a 2km long mineralized system at the San Juan Area." GR Silver Mining believes that Plomosas represents a district-scale project. The company says the Plomosas Mine Area displays evidence of a 600m long epithermal system, potentially extending up to 1.2km, where multiple veins and discoveries have so far defined a much larger high-grade silver and gold mineralized footprint. It is carrying out an 11,900m diamond core drilling program and plans to complete a resource estimate in two areas, Plomosas and San Juan, in the second quarter of 2021. Plomosas,  which spans an 8,515 hectares land position, is a past-producing asset, where only one mine, the Plomosas silver-gold-lead-zinc underground mine, operated a 600 tpd crush milling flotation circuit from 1986 to 2001, producing around 8 million ounces of silver, 73 million pounds of lead and 28 million pounds of zinc.
