Amazon launches second UK till-less store weeks after debut

Amazon.com Inc (NASDAQ:AMZN) did not waste time and has already opened a second till-less store in the UK. Located in Wembley Park, London, the Amazon Fresh store is powered by Just Walk Out technology. It is a cash- and card-less shop, where customers connect to the shelves by logging into their Amazon account via smartphone. Phase one of the rollout is understood to involve 25-30 sites in the UK. Amazon Fresh Stores UK is run by Matt Birch, formerly Sainsbury's director of commercial operations. Shares rose 1% to US$3,107.71 at open.
