District Metals continues to intersect significant polymetallic mineralization at Tomtebo

District Metals Corp (CVE:DMX) (OTCMKTS:MKVNF) (FRA:DFPP) revealed assay results of nine drill holes from its Tomtebo project in Sweden, which included strong zinc-lead-silver dominant mineralization.  The results, from a maiden drill program on the property, clearly indicate that the Tomtebo property contains a large, intense, syn-volcanic polymetallic mineral system, the company said.  READ: District Metals reveals "exceptionally strong" copper intercepts of up to 3.5% from maiden drill program at Tomtebo project Drill hole TOM21-004 encountered strong zinc-lead-silver dominant mineralization at the Oscarsgruvan zone, and holes TOM21-005 to -012 encountered variable grades and widths of zinc-lead-silver and copper-gold dominant mineralization at the Steffenburgs zone. District Metals said the results were highlighted by 6.5 meters (m) at 3.8% zinc, 2.2% lead, 46.7 grams per ton (g/t) silver, 0.4 g/t gold, and 0.2% copper (198.9 to 205.4m) including 1.65m at 10.9% zinc, 5.0% lead, 93.4 g/t silver, 0.4 g/t gold and 0.1% copper (198.9 to 200.55m). Another hole, TOM21-008, intersected 5.3m at 3.4% zinc, 1.2% lead, 20.8 g/t silver, 0.2 g/t gold, and 0.1% copper (218.7 to 224.0m). TOM21-009 intersected 3.9m at 3.7% zinc, 1.5% lead, 20.3 g/t silver, 0.2 g/t gold, and 0.1% copper (141.4 to 145.3m) and 0.35m at 4.0 g/t gold, 3.7% copper, 53.2 g/t silvre, 0.1% zinc, and 0.1% lead (184.65 to 185.0m). TOM21-012 intersected 26.3m at 0.6% copper, 0.2 g/t gold, 0.8% zinc, 0.4% lead, 24.4 g/t silver (301.9 to 328.2m) including 3.8m at 0.7% copper, 0.3 g/t gold, 1.7% zinc, 0.9% lead, 35.7 g/t silver (308.55 to 312.35m). “Information from the most recent drill holes adds to our growing understanding of the Tomtebo property,” District Metals technical advisor Rodney Allen said in a statement. “Similarities with submarine Volcanogenic Massive Sulphide (VMS) deposits worldwide and with major polymetallic deposits nearby in Bergslagen, including Garpenberg and Falun, allow us to compare and interpret the Tomtebo system,” he added. Allen said District Metals expected further steps in understanding the Tomtebo mineral system will be made once all of the geological and lithogeochemical data from the first drill program have been compiled and interpreted. “We have now reported on drill core assay results for 16 out of the 22 holes from our maiden drill program, and our takeaway is that the polymetallic mineralized footprint at the historic Tomtebo Mine is very large and remains wide open,” District Metals CEO Garrett Ainsworth said. “All of the drill holes have encountered intense alteration with 13 out of the 16 holes returning mineralization above cut-off grades, which is a testament to the robust polymetallic mineral system at Tomtebo." Tomtebo is located in the Bergslagen Mining District of south-central and comprises 5,144 hectares situated between the historic Falun Mine and Boliden's Garpenberg Mine.
