Eye on China: Japan announces chip equipment export control plans

Japan has followed the Netherlands in unveiling plans to control the export of key chipmaking materials, which have military uses. Tokyo said the controls on the 23 chemicals, including fluorinated polyimides which can cool nuclear reactors, were aimed at preventing the misuse of technologies for military purposes.
