India to lure manufacturers with electronics repair pilot project

Despite attracting global giants such as Apple and Xiaomi, India currently lacks a dominant electronics repair industry, which is estimated to be worth $100bn globally and is dominated by China and Malaysia. Among the changes, the Indian government will test ways to lower the time required for approvals for imports and exports to a day from up to 10 days.
