
Stock market today: Asian shares mostly lower as Bank of Japan meets, China property shares fall
Asian shares are mostly lower, while U.S. futures and oil prices edged higher. The Bank of Japan began a 2-day meeting that is being watched for hints of a change to the central bank's longstanding near-zero interest rate policy. Selling of property shares pulled Chinese shares lower. On Friday, Wall Street drifted through mixed trading to end the week on a quiet note. The S&P 500 fell less than 0.1% but was still hanging within 1.6% of its all-time high set early last year. It was its seventh straight winning week, the longest such streak in six years.
