R. Lee Ermey dead; 'Full Metal Jacket' sergeant was 74LOS ANGELES -- R. Lee Ermey, a former marine who made a career in Hollywood playing hard-nosed military men like Gunnery Sgt. Hartman in Stanley Kubrick's "Full Metal Jacket," has died.
