‘Harold and Maude’: meeting cute at a funeral“Well, if you want to sing out, sing out …” “Harold and Maude” is a cult favorite black comedy/drama that features wonderful performances from Bud Cort and Ruth Gordon, as a death-obsessed young man who finds romance with a 79-year-old woman. There’s also a lovely soundtrack from Cat Stevens (“... and if you want to be free, be free”) and one of the better uses of Bay Area exterior locations, including Sutro Baths and both the Golden Gate National Cemetery in San Bruno and the Holy Cross Cemetery in Colma. “Harold and Maude” plays at the New Parkway on Sunday, June 3, as a Party at the Parkway movie.
