His fashion-forward clip is online now...

International phenomenon *Davido* is back and stronger than ever with the fashion-filled music video for his hit track, ‘D & G’ featuring *Summer Walker*.

Released earlier this week, the stunning video for the pop-afrobeats tune from Davido’s sophomore album ‘Good Time’ isn’t just a vibrant, intimate visual element, but a way for the artist to give back to Covid-19 relief efforts, with proceeds of the video going to the Dolce & Gabbana and Humanitas Together for Coronavirus Research fund.

The Nigerian-American star hasn’t had an easy month. He spent fourteen days in self-isolation at his home in Nigeria after his fiance, Chioma Rowland, tested positive for Covid-19 at the end of March. Thankfully, she has since recovered last week, and the experience inspired Davido to make a massive financial donation the federal government of Nigeria and 6,000 bags of rice to people in need in the Osun state.

Enlisting award-winning director DAPS to film the music video during the Los Angeles leg of his North American tour, Davido plays on the traditional elements of rap and hip-hop videos. Although he combines stylized elements like oversized bling, up-close shots, slightly submissive women, and street style, Davido’s film puts designer clothing at the forefront, with all acts sport head-to-toe Dolce & Gabbana looks.

As Davido sings, “Say she lookin' into my eyes and she seeing designer /Gucci, Dolce & Gabbana (Dolce & Gabbana),” he courts a lady. The video also features Walker seducing her boyfriend, producer London On Da Track in sultry scenes.

The video is worth watching just for the monochrome Noughties-inspired outfits, filled with bucket hats, sequin co-ords, banana-yellow vinyl trousers, and oversized fur coats.

With the money from the video going to charity, you might as well replay over and over. Treat your ears to the slinky rhythms and sultry duets whilst you rewatch the aesthetic visuals, reminiscing on the days you, too, could be in a packed dinner or shooting hoops with mates.
