DaBaby's Non-Apology Is One For The Ages

It's already back-firing...

*DaBaby* has issued a further apology for his "hurtful and triggering" comments.

The rapper spoke out onstage at Rolling Loud Festival, making homophobic comments and spreading disinformation about HIV and AIDs.

Since then, condemnation has been swift - collaborator *Dua Lipa* said she was "shocked and horrified" by his comments, while *Sir Elton John* strongly condemned his words.

BROCKHAMPTON took aim at DaBaby, while the rapper was removed from the line ups of Parklife, Lollapalooza, and the Governers Ball.

DaBaby initially doubled down on his comments, but - with cancellations rising - a further apology has been issued.

Apologising for his “hurtful and triggering” comments, he seemed to criticise those calling him out for failing to provide "education on these topics and guidance..."

He writes: “Social media moves so fast that people want to demolish you before you even have the opportunity to grow, educate and learn from your mistakes. As a man who has had to make his own way from very difficult circumstances, having people I know publicly working against me - knowing that what I needed was education on these topics and guidance - has been challenging.”

The 'apology' seems to be an own goal for the ages - 'DaBaby' and 'DaBookings' were trending globally shortly after it went live, and it simply seemed to fuel the fire surrounding him.

DaBaby is a multi-millionaire who can afford image consultants, PR reps, and crisis management professionals.

No, it was never the job of LGBTQIA people to "educate" him for free.

We are too busy fighting to survive in a world where his uneducated hate is costing us our lives.

So many defenses of DaBaby are like, “He grew up poor and black in the hood, how did you expect him to develop EMPATHY and CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS”

…y’all…

please stop…
