What Is The Worst Movie Ever Made? A Selection Of 0% Rotten Tomatoes Scores

What Is The Worst Movie Ever Made? A Selection Of 0% Rotten Tomatoes Scoresby 👨‍💻 Graham Pierrepoint

The Emoji Movie has landed recently, and critics have reacted very angrily indeed – with less than 10% to its score at the time of writing, the movie sits as one of the worst-rated animated movies of all time – making the likes of last year’s disastrous Norm of The North look positively worthwhile. May we remind you, this was a movie in which a polar bear twerked and fought anti-environmental baddies. In any case, there was talk that The Emoji Movie could have scraped a 0% score – where no critics polled felt the film was worth seeing. It’s incredibly rare that a movie will poll absolutely negatively, and from a wide sample – but it has happened.

Here are a few of our favorite picks from the hall of shame – movies that hold a 0% score on Rotten Tomatoes from a wide scope of critical opinion. Time to start adding the following to your rental list…

Ballistic: Ecks Vs Sever (2002)
A confusingly daft and massively unoriginal action movie starring two of the most mismatched stars in Hollywood – Antonio Banderas and Lucy Liu – this box office dud with a dodgy name is famous mainly for holding the widest critical sample for a 0% score (117 reviews at the time of writing), and for the fact that a fairly mediocre Game Boy Advance adaptation received higher praise than the actual movie did.

One Missed Call (2008)
Getting horror movies right is difficult in a day and age where so much has already been done – and getting a remake from another language right is even harder. That being said, this failure of the Hollywood J-Horror remake craze comes off uninspiring and forgettably bland – despite its suitably creepy poster design.

The Ridiculous 6 (2015)
Was Netflix really onto a winner by hiring Adam Sandler out for several projects? Who’s to say – he’s not been a critical darling for well over a decade, and yet he continues to pull in the viewers. His take on the Western genre is lazy, predictable and full of the tropes Sandler’s become known to peddle. Bizarrely, Sandler’s frequent collaborator Kevin James is nowhere to be seen in this one.

Jaws 4 – The Revenge (1987)
A shark somehow seeks revenge for the events of the first, classic movie. It’s also awful.

The Nutcracker in 3D (2010)
This bizarre take on a Christmas classic went one dimension too far for critics – with such charming adjectives as ‘ugly’, ‘misguided’ and plain ‘wrong’, this cinematic wrong-foot was buried in the bargain bin for holidays to come. Fantastic acting talent in the form of Frances De La Tour, John Turturro, Richard E Grant, Elle Fanning and Nathan Lane can’t save this one.
