Guatemalan Court Blocks President's Attempt To Eject UN Anti-Corruption GroupThe Guatemalan Constitution Court convened late Tuesday night after President Jimmy Morales ended the mandate of a United Nations-supported anti-corruption commission, according to Al Jazeera. On Wednesday, the court suspended Morales' action after members of civil society, lawyers, and Indigenous Ancestral Authorities filed injunctions against the decision to withdraw from International Commission Against Impunity in Guatemala (CICIG). "The court has held up the law and returned the principles of international law that are held up in [the Guatemalan] constitution.
