UN: Sharp Rise In Arctic Temperature Already InevitableThe United Nations released a report which warned sharp and potentially devastating temperature increases of 3 to 5 degrees Celsius in the Arctic was now inevitable even if the world meets the greenhouse gas emissions agreed upon in the Paris accord, according to The Guardian. The report said winter temperatures in the North Pole are likely to rise at least 3 C above pre-industrial levels by mid-century. It also said there could be even more dramatic rises between 5 and 9 C above the recent average for the region.
