UN: Cyclone Idai May Be The Worst Natural Disaster To Hit The Southern HemisphereThe United Nations said the countries of Mozambique, Malawi, and Zimbabwe were hit by one of the worst disasters to ever hit the southern hemisphere this past weekend, with hundreds still missing on Tuesday, according to The Guardian. There is widespread destruction across the three countries, affecting more than 2.6 million people. The port city of Beira has become an "island in the ocean" after it was hit on Friday by devastating floods so it is completely cut off with the mainland, leaving 500,000 people isolated. “Where there was land, there’s now sea. The city itself is completely cut off. It’s really an island now in the ocean,” said Matthew Cochrane of the Red Cross. The official...
