Trump Tweets He Is Withdrawing Most Recently Announced Sanctions Against North KoreaUnited States President Donald Trump said he was withdrawing the recently announced North Korea-related sanctions on Friday, less than 24 hours after the Treasury Department announced them, according to NBC News. “It was announced today by the U.S. Treasury that additional large-scale Sanctions would be added to those already existing Sanctions on North Korea,” Trump tweeted. “I have today ordered the withdrawal of those additional Sanctions!” Trump did not specify which sanctions he was referring to, but on Thursday Washington had blacklisted two Chinese shipping companies which were accused of helping Pyongyang evade sanctions over its nuclear weapons program.
