Trump foe Avenatti charged with trying to extort $20 million from Nike
Tuesday, 26 March 2019 Attorney Michael Avenatti, who represented adult film star Stormy Daniels in her legal battles with U.S. President Donald Trump, was charged on Monday with what prosecutors said was an attempt to "shake down" Nike Inc for over $20 million.
In a series of tweets Tuesday morning, lawyer Michael Avenatti responded to being charged with attempting to extort $20 million from Nike.Among the posts, Avenatti mentioned former University of Arizona basketball star, and current Phoenix Sun Deandre Ayton.
Michael Avenatti bought the coffee chain Tully’s for $9 million in 2013. Yet parent company Global Baristas faced dozens of lawsuits over unpaid rent and taxes. Avenatti is now facing federal charges..
