[UPDATE] Paris Firefighters Race Against Time To Save Notre Dame Cathedral
Monday, 15 April 2019 () As a massive fire continued to burn the iconic Notre Dame Cathedral in France on Monday, a Paris fire official said at about 9:30 p.m. local time the next 90 minutes would be "crucial" to saving at least some of the building, NBC News reported. A French Interior Ministry official meanwhile cautioned that firefighters might not be able to save the cathedral. The blaze that engulfed the historic cathedral has caused the roof to collapse, destroyed a spire, and spread to one of the building's rectangular towers. The sight brought many onlookers to tears. Flames could be seen near scaffolding — high at the top of the famous church where $6.8 million in renovations were being done — and billowing...
