French Interior Minister Bans Yellow Vest Protest From Marching Near Notre DameThe anti-government gilets jaunes (yellow vests) protesters will be banned from demonstrating near the Notre Dame Cathedral on Saturday after the historic site suffered a catastrophic fire earlier this week, according to The Guardian. French interior minister Christophe Castaner warned rioters would be on the streets in several cities across France, but "particularly Paris," for the protests scheduled for this weekend. Castaner also warned against any extremist groups or troublemakers planning to repeat the looting and vandalism which happened on Paris’s Champs-Elysées last month and urged against the French city from becoming the “the capital of rioters” on Saturday.
