Swedish Prosecutors Agree To Reopen Investigation Into WikiLeaks AssangeThe Independent reports a 2010 rape case against WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange will be reopened by Swedish prosecutors, the country’s deputy director of prosecutions announced Monday. The inquiry, which was shelved in 2017 because Assange refused to leave the Ecuadorian embassy in London, could be restarted, Eva-Marie Persson said at a news conference, the report said. The victim claimed Assange raped her and called for the investigation to resume after he was evicted from the embassy and arrested by police last month, The Independent reported.
