Labour's Corbyn: Johnson's Brexit plan won't pass Brussels, or Parliament
Thursday, 3 October 2019 () Opposition leader Jeremy Corbyn said Boris Johnson's Brexit proposals would falter both in Brussels and at the hands of British politicians. Meanwhile, the EU's Donald Tusk said he remained "open but still unconvinced."
Boris Johnson has set out his "compromise" offer to Brussels in a bid to secure a Brexit deal. He said there would be no checks on or near the Irish border and the peace process would be respected. He also pledged to protect the union between Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
