China virus death toll tops 1,100 as new infections fall
Wednesday, 12 February 2020 BEIJING: The death toll from China's new coronavirus epidemic climbed past 1,100 on Wednesday but the number of new cases fell for a second straight day, as the World Health Organization urged global unity to combat the "grave threat".
The death toll from the coronavirus epidemic in mainland China soared past 1,000 on Tuesday with a record daily rise in fatalities. The number of reported cases however has fallen almost 20% compared to the previous day. Michelle Hennessy reports.
