Indian expat to travel home after two decades; gets USD 204,195 waiver in overstay fines

Thanavel Mathiazhaagan arrived in the UAE in 2000 through a recruitment agent on the promise of a job. The agent who took his passport later went missing forcing him to stay illegally in the UAE, the Gulf News reported.
